FAQ

What is Invisalign®?

Invisalign® uses nearly invisible, clear aligners to progressively improve the position of your teeth. It allows us to straighten your smile and correct your bite without having to use traditional brackets and wires.

How Does Invisalign® Work?

With Invisalign®, we use 3-D computer imaging to design and prescribe a treatment plan customized for your mouth. You will be able to see a virtual simulation of your teeth in their final position before starting. You will wear the aligners all the time except when eating or brushing and flossing your teeth. Dr. Orman will usually see you every 6-10 weeks to monitor your tooth movements and address any of your concerns.

What are the Benefits of Invisalign®?

The aligners are clear and barely noticeable. They can be removed so you can eat normally and brush and floss far more easily than with braces. The aligners are smooth and comfortable. Unlike direct-to-consumer or unsupervised orthodontics, Invisalign® treatment is prescribed and monitored in person by your dentist to ensure the best outcome possible.

How Long Does Invisalign® Take?

The length of Invisalign® treatment ultimately depends on how complex your case is and how much movement is desired. Traditional Invisalign® treatment may take between 12 to 18 months, whereas a case with only minor movements of front teeth can often be completed in 6 months or less. Your personalized treatment plan will include a projected amount of time for completion and virtual simulations so you can see the planned movements.

How Much Does Invisalign® Cost?

In most cases, the cost of Invisalign® treatment is similar to the cost of braces. After your initial consultation, we will determine the cost of your treatment based on how complex your case is and how many aligners you need.

What About Other Clear Aligner Options? (such as SmileDirectClub™, Candid®, SmileLove™, Orthly™, etc.)

Keep in mind that these types of indirectly or even unsupervised treatment can be less reliable and potentially harmful. Here is a good informational resource from the American Association of Orthodontics to consider: https://www.aaoinfo.org/1/online-orthodontic-companies
